SunGas Renewables (SunGas) announces the appointment of Andrew Kramer as Vice President of Engineering. Andrew brings critical experience and leadership to the SunGas team with his years of experience in the design, installation, and operation of U-GAS® gasification technology, which is the core technology in SunGas’ fluidized bed gasification product.
Andrew has deep knowledge and experience in the design and operation of multiple gasification technologies. As Senior Director for GTI, he has overseen all aspects of design, operation, and maintenance of GTI’s pilot-scale gasification and related facilities including fuel feeding, gas feeding, syngas cleaning, conditioning, and end-use systems. He directed the design and operation of the U-GAS gasifier with a variety of woody biomass feedstocks. Andrew’s past experience includes integration of gasification technology in gas-to-liquid conversions processes, including the TIGAS™ (Topsoe Improved Gasoline Synthesis) process, Fischer-Tropsch, and methanation systems. His responsibilities at GTI also extended to corporate safety, where his contributions to process safety were reflected in an exceptional safety record.
Prior to GTI, Andrew gained substantial industrial experience as a Production Control Supervisor for Zeneca. That work entailed supervising and training operators, troubleshooting equipment and process, setting production schedules, overseeing raw material flow, and meeting all safety, health, and environmental requirements and regulations. Accomplishments there included increasing production by 20% and decreasing process cycle time on a chemical intermediate for the nylon industry by 30%.
Andrew has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Tri-State University in Angola, Indiana.
“Andrew is an extraordinary leader with unparalleled expertise in the SunGas gasification system. We are excited to officially welcome him to the SunGas leadership team, knowing his contributions will assure continued excellence in the delivery of our technology to SunGas customers,” said Vann Bush, President of SunGas.
